One of the best place to eat fish and Sicilian food in Palermo

If you are looking for soul food and a typical Sicilian experience, skip the tourist traps and head here (great lunch spot if you are staying at the Astoria Palace hotel or working at the Fiera del Mediterraneo expo fair).Brilliant antipasti (the homemade anchovies are to die for, and the sweet and sour pumpkin is mind blowing), huge servings of pasta (squid ink linguine and chef Rauf's signature pasta will make you want to retire in Palermo) and the attentive owner Sara make this place the perfect place where to hide from the hard summer sun.We did not have a chance to meet the other owner Paolo, which means we'll have to come back real soon!

so far the best meal i've had in palermo! the friendly host Sara and talented chef Raouf were extremely kind and welcoming, and they both made excellent suggestions of what to eat based on my personal preferences. When i asked for something spicy, they prepared a special plate of spicy hot things in addition to the antipasti - which was already incredible; the caponata melanzane was delicious, and the sweet/sour pumpkin served with fresh mint was a wonderful surprise. Lunch (primo) was of excellent quality and quite generous portions, especially in light of the very reasonable prices. I had a special pasta 'alla Raouf', with pesto, meat, and a bit of creme which was hearty and enjoyable! The house white wine was also pretty tasty, and the informal atmosphere was cosy and familial. i expect to return here often, and highly recommend that you give this place a try if you're in the neighborhood!
